Prior to entering into the field of Osteopathy, Katie obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from McMaster University. Upon graduating she spent a year organizing and overseeing exercise therapy programs for individuals with profound mental and physical disabilities. She then spent eight years working as a Certified Kinesiologist in a physiotherapy clinic, during which time she returned to McMaster University and completed her Honours Bachelor of the Arts in the discipline of Philosophy.
Seeking more autonomy in her patient care, and an approach more focused on the cause of dysfunction rather than the symptomology, lead Katie to encounter Osteopathy at which point she enrolled at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy to complete her Osteopathic training. Her love and passion for the discipline keep her constantly learning and have lead her back to the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy as a member of the faculty in order to help educate future osteopathic manual practitioners.
Katie treats with a strong focus and understanding of the structure-function relationship in the human body and how this relationship adapts and changes throughout the various growth and developmental stages of life.
